The Board of County Commissioners have the ability to adopt a resolution establishing restricted areas prohibiting the construction of economically significant wind farms, large wind farms, and large solar facilities within the County as outlined in Ohio Senate Bill 52 which was approved during the 134th Ohio General Assembly; Section 303.58 of the Ohio Revised Code.
The Board of Wyandot County Commissioners received resolutions from the Board of Township Trustees of Antrim, Crawford, Eden, Jackson, Marseilles, Mifflin, Richland, Ridge, and Salem stating their desires to preserve each of their agricultural lands by preventing large tracts from being removed from agricultural use by prohibiting the construction of any economically significant wind farms, large wind farms, or large solar facilities.
A Public Meeting on the designation of Antrim, Crawford, Eden, Jackson, Marseilles, Mifflin, Richland, Ridge, and Salem as restricted areas to prevent energy projects will be held on Monday, July 31, 2023, at 5:00 PM. in the Conference Room at the EMS Building, 401 N Warpole St, Upper Sandusky OH 43351, and all are welcome to attend.
