Sheriff's Office

A Message from the Sheriff

As Sheriff of Wyandot County, I would like to welcome you to the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office website. I hope you find this website useful as well as informative not only to the citizens of Wyandot County but to our visitors from outside Wyandot County.

As Sheriff, I am honored to serve Wyandot County as your Chief Law Enforcement Official. I am a lifelong resident of Wyandot County where I grew up in the village of Kirby. I graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1988 and began my Law Enforcement career with the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office in 1991. Through the next 27+ years, I moved up in the ranks of Sergeant and then to Lieutenant. In 2018, I retired from the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office and soon thereafter I realized that I missed Law Enforcement and interacting with the citizens of Wyandot County. In September of 2020, I began my position as your Sheriff in Wyandot County.

The Wyandot County Sheriff's Office currently employs 31 people who manage Administrative, Correction, Communications, and Road Patrol duties. The Sheriff's Office is a 24/7 operating facility including Emergency E-911 dispatch and dispatch law enforcement officers as well as Fire and EMS. The Sheriff's Office is also responsible for the Wyandot County Jail, transporting prisoners, Major Crimes Unit, Court Security, investigating crimes, enforcing traffic and criminal laws, keeping the public peace, investigating traffic crashes, and many other responsibilities.

The Wyandot County Sheriff's Office is also responsible for Sheriff sales of properties, issuing concealed firearm carry permits, registering sex and arson offenders, and doing criminal background checks.

I am very proud of the women and men that make up the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office as they do a wonderful job for the citizens of Wyandot County. Feel free to contact our office with any questions or concerns at 419-294-2362.

Sincerely,

Todd D. Frey, Sheriff
